3 EASY WAYS TO BUILD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP
3 EASY WAYS TO BUILD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP
Your business needs one important element to boost itself — customer relationship. Your money and big discounts are not going to buy that easily. Building fruitful relationships need time and consideration. Customer loyalty is going to help you in the long-run and will prove to be impactful even in the time of tight market situations.
The market today is aggressively competitive, and everyone is waiting to snatch your customer away. Customers tend to move away from one brand when their needs and questions are not heard. Your competitors are waiting like vultures to pound on them and drive the conversion which originally belonged to you. Let’s make sure that does not happen.
Here we have listed, the most important of all, three ways that will help you maintain and enhance your relationships with your customer. Powerful and long-lasting relationships are not built just by one offer or through one meeting, you really have to put your energy and effort into it. It requires a complete strategic plan to reach, knock and have a happy conversation with the potential customer.
Reach your customers when the time is right
According to a study conducted by Totango, customers are willing to pay extra for a good customer support. This indicates only one thing–people don’t just want your product, they want your continuous support. With a good system at your end, you can build a relationship with them.
Take any e-commerce website for example. One week after you create an account on Amazon or Flipkart, you start receiving emails whenever there is an offer. They will even do remarketing for the product you just saw, compelling you with discount offers to purchase it. This customized interaction will definitely increase your brand’s awareness.
Have a proper CRM integration at your end. It will make your work way easier and timely.
Monitor your customer’s behaviour every day
One of the simplest ways of keeping your customers to yourself for the long-term is by carefully analyzing how much time they spend on your product and what exactly they feel about the product that they have already purchased.
When a customer leaves a reply or asks a question regarding anything, be prompt and be polite. Avoiding even one question can cause you one conversion. You have interesting products and interesting things to say, not about yourself but about how you can help them in the most convenient way. Do that Reply and interact.
Reward your loyal customers and they will reward you back
Your most profitable customers are your repeat customers. To make sure they come back to you, you must give them or offer them something worth their time and money. It’s a give-and-take deal everywhere. Stay in touch with them and give them something valuable, either in exchange for their regular purchase or for just giving their attention. When your customer feels they are valued, loved, and wanted, they will give back the love in the simplest yet profitable way–they will talk about you. They will share their great experience of shopping with you with their friends and family. Word of mouth strategy works the best. People believe their closed ones.
You reward your customers with any special offer and they will reward you with more purchase order and, in best cases, do the marketing for you. One social media post with your name in it can do wonders for you. They are indirectly become your best salespeople. So build your relationship and don’t let them go. Remember if you won’t interact and listen to your customers, your competitors will.
Consider your consumers more than your revenue streams, make them your family. You will be surprised to see the great response. Everyone wants to be heard. It’s time you open your ears not as a corporate but as helpers. A brand that is helping people with the products and services.
Connect with your customers on social media platforms, wherever they talk about you, you reach there and respond. Reward them, analyze them, interact with them and help them and they will be yours for a long time in a happy relationship.
You don’t have to do all the work by yourself. WHAT NOT TO DO IN EMAIL MARKETING
WHAT NOT TO DO IN EMAIL MARKETING
How successful was your last email marketing campaign? Did you generate a good amount of genuine leads? If you didn’t, and wondering what went wrong then we have an answer for you.
Mistakes! Unknowingly or knowingly you commit mistakes in your email marketing campaigns which make them vulnerable in front of the consumer and they just lose their value, which results in you losing a good business opportunity.
Emails are one of the best ROI driven medium. It demands your time and investment so make sure your effort does not go waste. But how to do that?
We are here to help you come out of this confusion and provide you with solid answers which will make you understand why exactly your email marketing didn’t work the last time. If you are about to take up email marketing then this is the perfect time to read this blog.
Don’t send from donotreply@mydomain.com
Your customers want someone to hear them and there is nothing worse than the brands using noreply@email.com or donotreply@domain.com. You choose digital medium and make your website responsive in order to interact with the potential customer, then why show the ‘don’t reply’ face? Interaction must be everywhere.
Emails with these addresses look tough, rude and give a unwelcoming facade. Just as you want to stand out and make an identity, people want you to treat them as individuals, not just some email address. If they can’t reply to you right away, what’s the point? In fact, these sort of emails has the lowest amount of open rates.
So always send your emails from an address to which consumers can reply to and do not forget to add contact details like other email ids, phone numbers or office address will also do. They may look at the address and might find it closer to their office or house and would want to chat about a project through a quick meeting. You may get lucky!
Don’t send only images in your emails
The most important reason why shouldn’t even think of sending a simple image based emailer is that it will directly go to spam. Forget about opening the email, your consumer won’t know your email even existed as it never appeared in their inbox.
Another reason why you should just wave off to image based emailer is that they take time to load. Not every email will open quickly, and not every consumer will spare their precious seconds waiting for your image to load. Let’s say they saw your email and are impressed. Now, later they want to search your email. They are in need of the product or service that you offered days ago. What should they type and search? Give them the option to search for that email by using text for most of your content. A good rule of thumb is to use a ratio of 60% images, 40% text.
Do not forget to attach a link to your website
There are campaigns with 20 links and there are campaigns with absolutely zero links. The goal of every email is to make them want to click through your website, but if your link sends them to your homepage, there are chances that they might not completely navigate to find one single service or product you offered at the first place.
Your email must include at least one link which takes them to a dedicated landing page that continues the message within the email and provides them a wider picture of what you were talking about. It is similar to search marketing campaigns, make a solid landing page as it eases your process of lead generation and increases conversions.
Do not apply the “one size fits all” theory
You have a good database–superb! You have a good email content–amazing! Is your email content relevant to the needs of the people in your database?
You will have everyone, from big businessmen to small startups in your database, now you don’t want to send a “we can help startups gain leads” to an already established business. Being relevant shows that you care. So always segment your emails. It will take time but it’s completely worth it as you have genuine chances of generating leads. Segmentation can be basic or complex. If you segment your list into different groups and alter your content as per the reader, you’ll definitely see higher click-through rates or engaged customers or maybe both!
Do not forget the fact that mobiles exist
How many emails do you check through your phones? Maximum, right? You know where we are heading.
People open and check their emails mostly through their mobile phones. So needless to say, you have to optimize your emails for mobile devices. No matter how informative or relevant your email will be, people won’t be able to read it easily which means they will not read it all.
Plus, optimizing for mobiles is the first thing you should consider in email marketing, the route goes up to you driving more traffic and generating leads. Keep the process as easy as possible. Your landing pages and your website must also be easily reachable. The more easy the process is for the customer the more you will be liked.
So these are the major mistakes that marketers or brands usually commit today. Have your checklist ready for your next campaign, you now know what to do and what to strictly avoid.

It’s latest anniversary doodle is a surprise birthday spinner that will take you back to its 19 most appreciated and brilliant doodle games. Each doodle represents a year of the giant search engine’s history.
You can count on Google when it comes to creativity and customer engagement. So this time, when you spin the wheel, it will take you to play interactive browser games that Google has presented over past 19 years such as making your own hip hop track celebrating 44th birth Anniversary of Hip-Hop , musical puzzle game celebrating Beethoven’s 245th birthday or this cute magic cat Academy Halloween game. Among the 19 surprises, Google has added the new Snake game, tic-tac-toe and earth-day quiz. You can directly Google snake game or ‘Google Birthday Surprise Spinner’ to give the wheel a spin and play fun-filled Doodle games.
Google currently serves up to 4.6 billion users across 160 countries — who are searching for everything and anything in 123 languages. Google has a team of illustrators and engineers, the “Doodlers”, who have created over 2000 doodles for the homepage around the world.
The concept of having a Doodle was created before Google was incorporated.
According to the Google Doodle page, “In 1998, Larry and Segal (Google Founders), were playing with the logo to indicate their attendance in one festival in Nevada Desert. They placed a stick figure drawing behind the 2nd “o” in the word, Google, and the revised logo was intended as a comical message to Google users that the founders were “out of office.”. While the first doodle was relatively simple, the idea of decorating the company logo to celebrate notable events was born.”
Google has a history of being mind blowingly creative and engaging. Over the years everyone has come across some really amazing Doodles time-to-time. If it wasn’t for these Doodles we sure would have missed out on some of the amazing inventions and legends in history. Just like a teacher Google has taught us a lot. It has invested in our emotions. Known us and given answers to the questions that troubled us.
The team of Crazy Hippos wishes our beloved Google, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and Good job at this year’s Doodle!
HOW STRONG IS YOUR SALE STRATEGY THIS FESTIVE SEASON?
HOW STRONG IS YOUR SALE STRATEGY THIS FESTIVE SEASON?
India is the country of various cultures and each culture has its set of festivals that are celebrated nationwide. The special festive season begins from August or September with the homecoming of Lord Ganesha and extends up to Navratri, Diwali and then Eid, and goes all the way up to December end till the new year. These months almost every brand comes up with a new marketing tactic to lure in the customers.
India, where the people and their festivals are connected with emotions, marketers try to find that one striking emotional element and connect it with their end users. Discount strategies are one of the oldest methods of attracting customers, but today if everyone is doing the same, how will you differentiate your product and make those very customers choose you over the others?
Festive Season Key Strategies that you MUST use
Here we have discussed some of the key trends that you can utilize if you are looking to drive sales this festive season. Pull up the socks and get ready for a complete customer attracting season.
Early bird wins the bread
A little-twisted proverb yet meaningful. If you want your marketing strategy to work then don’t get up a day before the festival and announce a 50% OFF. Planning is what you need. Even your customers plan where to purchase and what to purchase. You must create a buzz before they even start planning. Use social media to the fullest. Create a buzz beforehand on social media and find the right words. One day sales or flash sales do not have a longer life, you keep a countdown.
Tell the people you are here with offers and tell them you will run out soon, not because the festival will arrive but because your product is amazing and will be sold out. Amazon, Snapdeal, and even Big Bazar do a brilliant campaign when it comes to big festive sales.
Rope them in emotionally
Nokia’s latest ad of “Gift your loved ones ‘yourself’ is one of the classic ads you will see today. Also, Amazon’s “#MomBeAGirlAgain” strikes the emotional chord with their customers and also focuses on the essence of gifting itself.
Such advertising creates brand loyalty and also increases brand recognition. This plays a vital role in becoming the customer’s first choice rather than being just one of them. Based on your product, plan out a creative or an ad. Sit with your ad agency and discuss how you can connect your product emotionally with the customers.
The more brand loyalists the merrier
Don’t just call them to enjoy your discount, make them bring their friends. The best way to work on this tactic is to use social media. Engage them in different interactive campaigns, make them tag their friends or family and promise them some sort of gift. This is also the best way to not just retain your existing customers but also to gain new customers. You can reach a larger target audience. Daily deals, flash sales, flash banner ads help in stirring curiosity in the minds of the consumers making them come back to you periodically thereby helping in better conversions during the festive season.
Look Appealingly Good
Showcase your story. Tell them why you are where you are now. This goes best for apparels and fashion jewelers. People love to hear from people. Showcasing the best of your festive season work is going to attract a lot of eyes towards yourself. Why don’t you include your top trending products and make sure your target audience does not miss out on your communication in the existing crowd of discounts.
Have a time limit
The best way to ensure traffics is to tell people it is going to end soon. Put a start and end date to it and make spread this communication everywhere on time. This creates a sense of urgency in taking the buying decision and they would at least once visit your website or store to check out products. In case of online marketing, you can do remarketing and lure them back in no time.
Surprise your customers
In the end of the day, your customer just wants to feel special. You need to make an effort and make sure that they feel special on their special occasion. Email marketing works the best for this. GoIbibo is one of the best examples for this. If you have registered on their website and did a hotel search on any day, they will send you revised rates of the hotel you checked out along with a personalized message.
From small surprise discounts to gift-cards, free coupons or enabling free shipping, every step from your side will be appreciated.
Bring the element of fun and surprise in the festive campaign this month and see how the sales turn out. Your customer must feel stress-free while shopping with you. Based on your product/service, try out different things this festive season. Don’t make it just another money making month, make it special for the customer also and they will come back next season also.
We, at Crazy Hippos, provide the best of strategies both offline and online for all products/services in all domains. If you are looking for something dynamic and awesome this season to do, contact us. We love talking about result driven campaigns and creativity is our niche. TOP 3 REASONS WHY PINTEREST IS GOOD FOR YOUR BRAND
TOP 3 REASONS WHY PINTEREST IS GOOD FOR YOUR BRAND
When people talk about Digital Marketing, they usually don’t go beyond Facebook, Twitter or Search Ads, or maximum–Instagram. Many brands even worry about opting for Pinterest as the ‘believe’ that it won’t do any benefit.
That’s clearly not true!
Some of the major misconceptions brands have about Pinterest are
- People only pin food, wedding and travel pictures
- Only writers and poets use it
- My target audience won’t be available on Pinterest
- There will be no ROI
Let’s pop this bubble right away!
Today, Pinterest has become the third most popular social media platform after Facebook and Twitter. Moreover, Pinterest receives an average of 1.36 million visitors each day, out of which 68% are female. Even though Pinterest is in growing state in India, if you have a brand whose product has a lot of images then think no more–jump and join Pinterest.
Here we have discussed few of the many reasons on how Pinterest can be a great asset for your business.
Benefit #1
It drives traffics (a lot of traffic)
If you have tried Digital Marketing for your brand then you must know about the benefits of creating inbound links. Pinterest is probably one of the best platforms to create links back to your website, which in turn, increases traffic.
Make sure you have good content. Your content will drive people to pin the picture. Further, present it well. A good content is best delivered with a good quality graphics, and, on Pinterest, you have a lot of potentials to attract people with quality graphics.
Benefit #2
It converts browsers into buyers
People usually turn to Pinterest in their first phase of planning i.e., their usual research phase; or for inspiration. The point is, Pinterest reduces the number of steps from product discovery to conversion.
For example, if someone wants to go Ooty, they’ll simply search ‘ooty’ on Pinterest. The pictures opened can be put up a travel agency. So when people click on it, the image will open which might also lead them to the agency’s website page where they can directly book the tickets.
Thus, visitors from Pinterest are more likely to convert to buyers. You can get genuine leads and profitable amount of sales.
You might not know this, but when people google for images, many images shown in the search results are also from Pinterest. Basically, people can access you just through your amazing pictures.
Benefit #3
Know your audience, market, and competition
Pinterest gives you a great opportunity for consumer insights. One keyword search can get you a complete report on what your target audience is keen on searching, discussing and sharing. You can check what your competitors are posting and what is the most that’s getting pinned. You can search in categories or use the pinners to follow what is that is trending.
You can follow anyone who follows you and gets a complete picture of the topic that’s holding their interest. You will never be behind the trending market through this. It gives you the opportunity to see what’s hot so that you can position yourself and your products accordingly.
Don’t stop here. There are many benefits from Pinterest that you are unaware of. Use Pinterest to showcase that unique element of your product or service. Create a board and highlight your employees, your brand, your culture and yourself. It’s indeed a great platform where you can start by simply having a picture of your office, warehouse or brand logo. Let people see the real you. Don’t limit the social media potential.
Not sure how to go about using Pinterest?

GOVERNMENT GOES DIGITAL, YOU SHOULD TOO -LAUNCHES UMANG APP
GOVERNMENT GOES DIGITAL, YOU SHOULD TOO -LAUNCHES UMANG APP
Availing government services has become even simpler! Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally launched Umang, a state and central government services app, on 23 November with a sole purpose of reaching to the citizens in the most convenient and time-saving way.
Anyone can sign up on the app for services from the Employees Provident Fund Organisation, the Central Board of Secondary Education, Bharat Bill Pay and others. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) along with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) have developed the app, the name of which expands to Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance.
This App acts as a one-stop-shop for all government services. One can find CBSE exam centers, calculate crop insurance premium, access soil health cards, book OPD appointments at government hospitals and view lab reports and whatnot. A total of 162 services from 33 state and central government departments. You can link your Aadhaar card, sort services by type and can even check notifications from various services with just one tap.
It is indeed a great initiative where the government brings the services closer to the citizens. There are many other similar apps available in the Digital Store like MyGov App, Narendra Modi App; but Umang is the most recent and the advanced app that offers a lot at once.
It is the era of digitization. Not because of Demonetisation but because of Modernisation. When big companies go digital, why would government stay behind? We have witnessed how quickly our External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj responded to citizens with grievances on Twitter and heard stories about how our former Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu, solved problems of many passengers before they even finished their journey when they sent him a complaint tweet. Everyone today is trying to reach the maximum number of people. It plays a vital role in Market Image Building. It not just enhances government brand equity but also casts a positive light on the leaders itself.
Our whole point is ‘customer engagement’. It is all about reaching the customer and listening to them and trying to solve their problems. Brands don’t work for themselves. They work for people. The first aim should be solving the problem. People know that you have a product but how is that product going to solve their problems. When brands connect their products to the audience and showcase the benefits, then they get what they need–traffic and conversions.
It’s about how easy it is for your consumers to reach you. Take Umang for example, everyone knows where to go to avail a government service; still, providing the app and making the entire process simpler and user-friendly counts. It counts big time!
Today it has become immensely important to understand your target audience and to reach them especially when they have a problem. The best and the trendiest way to do so is to have an app where people can ask, talk and book your service anytime anywhere. Your brand must be available right in front of them. Your consumer should be able to contact you from the comfort of their home. If you won’t be available, then someone else will.
So no matter how small or big business you own and what services or products you provide, if you think not having your own business app is not going to cost you anything then think again. Smartphones are man’s best companion today and if you are not available there then are you really visible to your consumer?
Thinking about having your business app?
We, at Crazy Hippos, specialise in building highly scalable APIs and Mobile apps. Get in touch with us to find out how we can help in shaping your disruptive idea into a prototype, MVP and finally into an awesome product.

- Do not name your web pages as ‘Admin’ page. When you use such easy words it becomes obvious for hackers to find your admin page. For ex: Avoid creating pages like — www.yourwebsite.com/admin/
- Don’t keep general passwords like admin@123 or 123456, website name etc.
- Create a strong password by using a mixture of special characters, numbers and alphabets.
- Always update your extensions for your website and upgrade your admin page if necessary.
- Don’t index your admin page in Google search engine.
- Finally, use your cPanel access or registered domain login page as an admin page. This will make it very difficult for basic hackers to hack the server.
We hope these tips would be helpful to safeguard your website and also improve your site position in Search Engine.

WHAT IS COPY IN COPYWRITING?
WHAT IS COPY IN COPYWRITING?
Copywriting is 70% marketing skill and 30% art
The trouble with copywriting is its very nature—it is rather unfixed. Even though there is the standard copy book that for most bit has been the industry standard blue print, a large portion of the pre -copywriting process has not been given the attention it deserves.
By the pre-copywriting process we mean, a certain exercise that lets you know the product, know its differentiating factor and translate it into a benefit; feature alone is not enough to make a convincing sell, a complete understanding of the product or service, merits and demerits is a must. Also, knowing who you are writing for matters immensely, when it comes to the final shaping of the communication. To demonstrate the relevance of this approach I shall use two car brands as illustrations.
If there were two cars in the same league, offering say equal number of features: both offer power steering, and both offer power windows as well. Now one of them, say Maruti, manages to include an extra benefit, an increase leg room for the same price. Then, what we have is real benefit that can tilt things in Maruti’s favour. But if only Maruti can clearly communicate that differentiating USP.
If the copy were to be something like this:
All the benefits of a hatch back plus GREATER LEGROOM for a comfortable ride–the all new Maruti zen!
A reader will surmise from the above copy that for a certain price not only is he or she getting both the promised features, but now also can stand to gain from the increased leg room. Now to be able to do that the copywriter should know all the features and be able to figure out a differentiating USP. How he or she uses the words is a craft in itself: the tone used, number of words used, the literary conceits etc—however what has to be communicated has to come first before the writing begins. And that ability of a seasoned copywriter to pick the right thing to sell through well written copy is a certain salesmanship and it precedes the copywriting.
70% of the effort goes in at this stage into so many other things that has nothing to do with English writing or language at all, for that matter. This is the creative process that should be followed as a template before approaching any task, and it is rare today.
There are a set of questions which will help you frame a blueprint on writing your copy. There are things that you must know and understand first. We have mentioned those very important questions and these will help you big time –
What is your product
Why would you, yourself buy it or ask your girlfriend/wife/husband to buy it
What is your objective
Who is your target audience
What is it you want them to see
As Maria Veloso, one of the renowned copywriter, as rightly stated in her book “Learn everything you can about your product or service. Uncover the benefits of owning your product or using your service. Only after you identify your objective, familiarize yourself with your target audience, and know your product or service throughly is it time to start writing”.
